History

The McGehee law firm was established in Silvis, Illinois in 1959 by attorney N. Layne McGehee. It's in this spirit that we continue to carry on his name as part of our firm. His vision to assist Quad City residents with expert law professionals continues today.

• The firm name became Pepping, Balk, Kincaid & Olson, Ltd. in January 2013.
• Katherine Varlas-Teel joined the firm as an associate in November 2012.
• John L. McGehee was elected to Rock Island County States Attorney in 2012 and left the firm for this elected position.
• The firm name became McGehee, Olson, Pepping, Balk, & Kincaid, Ltd in 2012 as Jennifer Kincaid joined as a partner.
• Jennifer L. "Kislia" Kincaid joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2006
• In 2006, the firm name became McGehee, Olson, Pepping & Balk, Ltd
• Steven E. Balk joined the firm in 1997
• Jerry J. Pepping became a member of the firm in 1984
• John L. McGehee, son of founder N. Layne McGehee, entered the firm in 1989
• Douglas G. Olson entered the firm as a partner in 1983
• The partners were joined by James E. Whitmire, Jr., forming the firm of McGehee, Boling & Whitmire, Ltd. in 1963
• In 1962, N. Layne McGehee and Robert C. Boling became partner
